Loiza is a coastal village and most inhabitants are descendants of Africans who entered the country as slaves brought by the English. Despite its proximity to the metropolitan area of \u200b\u200bSan Juan is one of the poorest municipalities in Puerto Rico.

This new recreational facility is a good alternative for cyclists and pedestrians who need a broad linear path that allows them to transit from how more comfortable and safe, the long road PR-187. The project, inaugurated in early 2000, allows you to travel 11 kilometers, while admiring the natural resources and scenic Pine area.
It extends from the area in Boca Crab walker and continues along the coast sectors La Torre, Torres and Sector Gears up to the Monte Grande de Loiza.

represents a natural habitat for a diversity of marine life and wildlife that lives and develops in this area. Here you can find sand dunes, coral reefs and mangrove areas. Sand dunes are accumulations of sand on the beaches caused by high wind and located along the coastlines. Both these coral reefs and mangrove areas act as natural coastal defenses against the onslaught of waves, currents and storms.
Its plants and animals have adaptations to survive and reproduce under conditions of life so special. Talega Empty ecosystem has a great diversity of natural resources of incalculable value. They invite all spectators to enjoy this breathtaking scenic panorama of great beauty.
